It is not commonly known that Athena was thrown from the split forehead of her father Zeus because he ate his first wife Metis. He had decided to do this because he was told that the male child born from his wife would overthrow him and take his place on the thrown. He ate his wife when she had shape shifted into a moth and the unborn Athena continued to grow for many years inside his head. It caused him much pain and his son Hephaestus from Hera saw how much pain it caused him, and took pity. He made a special axe seen as he is the god of the forge and carefully split his head. Out then flew Athena fully grown and adorned in armor ready to do her responsibilities.

Athena is a wise goddess that created many things that benefited the human race. She had created transportation such as the chariot and ships. She also created agricultural tools such as the plow and the flute. Not only was she the goddess of wisdom and battle strategy, she also did many things for the world of agriculture.

Because Athena is the virgin goddess; she has the ability to put her duties as a goddess before her own personal life. Because of this, she is a strong warrior and fierce in battle, and fights for what’s right in her eyes. One battle that she affected was the battle at Troy when she helped Odysseus.

Athena is one of the three virgin goddesses. Being a virgin goddess means that she won’t marry. This opens her up to a number of other possibilities such as doing crafts and building things and even making battle strategy.

One of Zeus’ biggest worries was that Athena would be the child to overthrow him, but when she was born a girl, she instantly became his favorite. He trusted her with many secrets and even let her possess his thunderbolts for a short time.

Athena wanted to avoid war, but once one has begun, she stands for her side until the end. She had tried to prevent the Trojan War. To do this, she descended from Olympus and walked between the two sides and made them take an oath to keep peace. One coward named Pandaros let loose an arrow, thus starting the war. To show her displeasure, Athena helped the other side and led them to victory.

Throughout her time, Athena took on the forms of many people with various names. She has taken on the form of normal men, women and children. She also has different names depending on the culture. Athena’s other aliases are Pallas Athena because of her dead childhood friend and Minerva for her Roman name.

Athena was frequently called upon to settle disputes between the gods or various mortals. She was known as the goddess of wisdom because of how intelligent she was, and because of this, all of her decisions were considered, highly ethical and seldom motivated by self-interest. They not only showed and demonstrated her interests, but it revealed her compassion too.

Athena was normally considered to have a cool attitude, but she lost her temper once and turned the weaver Arachne into a spider because she had beaten Athena in a weaving contest. Arachne was a great weaver and she had won a weaving contest against Athena. At first, she drove her to hang herself, but once she regained composure, she turned Arachne into a spider to weave her beautiful webs for eternity.

Colors:I chose the color silver because it represents the wisdom of my goddess. It also represents the color of the weapons she took into battle, because she is the goddess of battle strategy.
Pictures: The owl in the first picture represents Athena's wisdom. The olive branch for athena represents her victories of war and the pace made ofter. The third is her battle ready, because she is goddess of war. And her power is represented by the last.
